Let’s talk about health & fitness first! There are many diets, pills, exercise routines and machines out there today that claim to give you the perfect body in no time flat! But let’s face it, without proper diet and exercise you can’t achieve healthy results that will last! Being self aware of not only your body but how it actually works will help you achieve your goals no matter how skilled you are or how much you can bench press! Knowing what foods fuel your body’s metabolism is key, people have a misconception that if I eat less I’ll lose more, this simply isn’t true! Not eating or skipping a meal is like tricking your body into starve mode, what happens when you body thinks it’s starving is it holds on to your stored fat cells, this is not good for those with lots of body fat, you won’t lose but a little, and when you finally do eat, your body will store the very little expelled fat you just lost, this is not effective. If you consider fueling your car, if you top it off it simply get’s better gas millage, if you only put $5 bucks in at a time, you run out of gas more often, your body is the same, if you fuel your body properly with nutritious foods your body will run and burn just like the hottest car out there. If you fill it with junk and only a few times a week then you’re going to burn out and see nil results! Health and Fitness are hand in hand, in order to be healthy you have to eat and ACT healthy, that means getting off the couch and eating veggies, proteins, and cutting out sugars, salts or bad oils. Take it from me, if you stick to the old age rule of a healthy portion and moderate exercise you WILL see results, it may take a bit longer but it’s worth the sweat and tears! (Promise you won’t cry too hard when you fit into those skinny jeans!)
Moving onto relationships, most of us are unaware of how our actions or words directly affect our partner. Being conscious of what comes out of your mouth as well as how you act around your loved one can significantly improve your relationship! Sometimes it’s easy to forget that the other person has needs, wants or even feeling, so be aware of your partners needs and if they aren’t evident then ask! Take heed when speaking when your upset or irritated, it’s how you treat the one you love when things are bad that will determine if a relationship will last or not! Be warm and supportive and treat them the way you’d like to be treated, again going back to the simple steps in life, being self aware and treating your loved one like you love them always not just some times is key to a healthy, loving relationship!
Now if you’re not in a relationship we can talk about dating! Dating is hard, let’s face it. Finding a quality date doesn’t just start with whether the other person has a job, house or car, they need to connect with you mentally. I think people settle these days because it’s easier than setting standards, if you set standards people tend to think of you as picky. If wanting someone with their act together that can hold a conversation and can make you laugh is picky then I’m the pickiest person in the world! I’m glad I don’t care about that! If you’re having a hard time dating, take a look at why; are your standards too low? Some say your standards are too high, I say no way! If you walk into a bar and expect to meet Mr. Perfect your insane! You need to set standards on not just what you want but where you’d like to meet your next date, try a museum, Star Bucks, the park, anything other than a bar or club, it’s a bad idea, you’ll meet someone who still lives at home with 7 DUI’s so unless you love to chauffeur and don’t mind someone walking in on you during what should be a private encounter step up your game! Be aware that you’re going to have to bring something to the table so if you have issues settle them before you hit the dating scene no one wants to start off with a jaded date they have to fix!
Life problems are common, it’s the way you deal with it that separates the men from the boys, perception, problem solving and educated decisions can alter your life immensely! More will be discussed on specific problems but I can tell you in the mean time perception and being grateful for the things in your life will take your problems and make them small! Focus on what the real underlining issue is and do something about it, life is much easier when you take responsibility for your actions and make a choice to change something!
